Thursday, March 27, 1913MELROSE MAN KILLED
Mike Conway, an old resident of Melrose, was instantly killed by a Rock Island train at Cedar Rapids last Thursday afternoon about 4:30. The remains were brought to Melrose Saturday afternoon on No. 179, and were removed to the home of his son, James, who lives south of Melrose.
The funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Catholic church on Monday morning conducted by Rev. W. J. McCormick, after which interment was made in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
He leaves to mourn his untimely death his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Wm. Barry, Mrs. Matt Carmody, Mrs. John Feehan and Miss Margaret, five sons, James, John, George, Mike and Lewis, and a large circle of friends who extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved relatives in their hour of trouble.
