Mrs. Andrew Donahue
 
Friday morning, Aug. 22, 1913 occurred the death of Mrs. Andrew Donahue, at her home south of town. 
 
She was the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed McGee.  She was born Jan. 2, 1888 near Melrose, where she resided practically her entire life.
 
She was married to Andrew Donahue Oct. 12, 1904.  After months of suffering this exemplary young woman passed to her eternal reward which she had greatly merited.
 
Her life was blessed with sunshine and happiness; she was always kind and thoughtful of others.
 
She bore her sufferings with great patience scarcely complaining of her affliction.  She was a woman of very strong character and no one could speak of her but in the highest terms.
 
Being born and raised a Catholic, she died as she had lived, true to her church.
 
She leaves to mourn her loss a kind and loving husband, father, mother, three sisters, Mrs. Steve McCarthy, Mrs. Robert Callahan, and Miss Margaret also four brothers, Neil, James John and Alfred.
 
The funeral services were held at 9 o’clock, Rev. Father McCormick celebrated Requiem High Mass and preached an eloquent funeral oration.
 
The pall bearers were Mike Lyons, Sam Doyle, Ed Murray, Malachi Grogan, James Knowles, and Richard Ward.
 
Out of town friends who attended the funeral were; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lyons, William Mitten, son,, Thomas and daughter, Nora, of Woodburn, Mrs. McNair and daughter, Mary of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Frank Fox and daughter, Margaret and Thos. Fox of Woodburn, James Kennedy of Burlington, John Donahue of Galesburg, Ill.
