OBITUARY

Mrs. James Luttrell, who for the past five years has resided in Albia, died at her residence on Sunday Mar. 12th at the age of 62 years.

The funeral was held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. L. Coughlin to St. Patrick's church, Georgetown, services being conducted by Rev. P. J. Murphy, whose touching words were a tribute to the life of this good woman.

Rose Judge was born in Clinton County Iowa on November 7, 1859. Two years later she with her parents, moved to Taylor County where they resided on a farm near Bedford coming to this county in the fall of 1865.

Her marriage to James Luttrell took place January 8, 1889 at Georgetown. They settled on a farm a short distance north of that place where they lived 28 years moving to Albia in 1917.

She is survived by her husband and three children, Mrs. T. L. Coughlin of Georgetown, Thomas and Edward of Sheridan Lake, Colo., who arrived for the funeral; one sister, Mrs. Jas. Flattery of Albia, three brothers, John, Joseph and William of Georgetown and nine grandchildren

Although Mrs. Luttrell’s health had not been the best of late years yet her death was a shock to the community where she lived so long and was loved so well.

We can think of none more gentle. Her very gentleness had perhaps more influence for good than we shall ever know, so unassuming, so uncomplaining did she strive to hide any suffering.

As a lifelong member of the Catholic Church her devotion and almost constant preparation for death procured for her the happiness of receiving the last rites of the church a few minutes before her death.

She is resting in the cemetery at Georgetown near her father and mother. Her memory is a benediction.
