The Register's Iowa News ServicesMELROSE, IA. - John T. Kline, 69 of Melrose died of a gunshot wound Saturday at home. The death has been ruled a suicide. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton, with burial in the Chariton Cemetery.
Mr. Kline was born in Monroe County and lived in the Melrose and Chariton areas for many years. He was a farmer and a member of the Lucas County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Barrow of Russell, John of Indianola and Gary of Omaha; three daughters, Tami Moss of Des Moines, Marian Holmes of Russell and Cindy Farrell of Omaha; a brother, Harvey of Alvia; a sister, Greta Paulson of Moline, Ill.; and six grandchildren. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa 20 Aug 1991.
