Death of Blanche Downs

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed S. Downs was saddened last Sunday morning when the death angel came to their home and in the stillness of the morning bore hence the spirit of their daughter, Miss Blanche. The young lady had been an invalid for some years and for several weeks had been confined to her bed. She was a most loveable and talented young lady, an only daughter and one in whom not only the fond parents but all Albians had the deepest interest. Her death causes universal sadness and the parents and relatives have the deepest sympathy of all the people.

The funeral was held Tuesday morning and the manifestations of sympathy were many and one of the largest crowds that has ever attended an Albia funeral was present to pay the final respect to her memory. The remains were laid to rest in Oak View cemetery.
