OBITUARY
Downs

Edgar Sabura Downs, son of Jonathan Clark and Mary Downs, was born December 15th, 1857 in Port Washington, Oyankee county, Wisconsin.

While a young man he became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and had been active in that church the greater part of his life.

He was married to Sadie E. Walker at Albia on the 25th day of February, 1880. To this union three children were born, Grace Ethel, who died at the age of 11 months, Ralph E., and Blanche Mae, who died October 6, 1907.

He came to Albia in 1876 and began his work in his chosen profession, which he has followed through these years with honor and dignity, everywhere making friends by his kind genial manner.

He passed away January 17, 1934 at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 2 days.

Those left are his wife, Mrs. Sadie E. Downs of Albia; one son Ralph E., of Chariton, three grandchildren, Bart Downs, Mrs. Mell Brooks and Mrs. Joe Klepper, all of Albia; seven great-grandchildren, two nieces, Mrs. Ruth Stewart and Miss Madge Downs of Albia and two nephews, Art Downs of Ottumwa and Chas. Downs of Spokane, Washington, as well as other relatives and a great circle of loving friends.
