James ScieszinskiJames Joseph* Scieszinski, 54, died at his home, 110 Cottage Grove Ave., Thursday at 2:45 a.m.
He was born Sept. 4, 1914, at Melrose.
The retired truck and cab driver had been in failing health for several years.
Mr. Scieszinski was the son of John and Teresa Foley Scieszinski. He was married Feb. 5, 1937, to Doris Wentworth in Ottumwa. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, West Burlington.
Surviving: Foster mother, Mrs. Katherine McLamar, Ottumwa; widow, Doris Scieszinski, 110 Cottage Grove Ave.; a brother, John A. Scieszinski, Janesville, Wis,; two daughters, Mrs. Francis (Shirley) Sinnott, Bettendorf, and Mrs. Ronald (Mary Sue) Mierzwa, Moline, Ill.; a son, Dennis Scieszinski, stationed at Clarksville, Tenn., with the U.S. Army; and five grandchildren.
Services: St. Mary's Catholic church, time to be announced later; burial in Calvary cemetery, Melrose; the body is at Pugh’s funeral home and will be moved to Traul funeral home, Ottumwa, Thursday afternoon.
