Mary Sheedy Dead at 84

Mrs. Mary Sheedy, 84, died Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. James Hannam, in Melrose.

Mrs. Sheedy was born in Peoria, Ill., April 26, 1869, and her family came to Iowa when she was two years old, establishing residence on a farm near Lovilia.

She had lived in Melrose since the death of her husband, John, 15 years ago.

Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Mike Heyland of Lovilia, Mrs. Al Currie of Des Moines and Mrs. James Hannam, Mrs. Mort Hannam and Mrs. Bob Coady, all of Melrose; and two sons, J. E. Sheedy of Chicago, Ill., and Pat Sheedy of Ottumwa.

The body was taken from Humeston Funeral Home here to the James Hannam residence in Melrose, where the rosary was recited Wednesday evening.

Funeral rites were conducted at St. Patrick's church in Melrose this morning by the Rev. R. J. McGrath, and burial was in St. Mary’s cemetery, Weller.
