Obituary

Franklin Hamblin Collins was born near Macomb, McDonough Co., Illinois, August 4th, 1861, and departed this life March 18, 1914, at his home in Onida, S. Dak., being 52 years, 7 months and 11 days of age.

He was the oldest child of Samuel W. and Mary F. Collins, now deceased.

In January 1865, when Frank was four years old his parents moved from their home in Illinois to Monroe county, Iowa, and settled on a farm ten miles southwest of Albia, where the family was reared. At the age of twenty-one our brother went with some friends to Sully County, S. Dak., where he settled on a homestead, living on it 31 years.

About two weeks ago he moved to Onida, the county seat of Sully county. While moving he contracted a severe cold that developed into pneumonia, which quickly brought to an untimely end an honorable and useful life.
