ALBIA — Betty Rose Stocker, age 82, died early Saturday morning Feb. 2, 2008, at the Monroe Care Center in Albia, Iowa.

Betty was born June 6, 1925 to Daniel Quincy and Levada (Moyle) Caudill in Lockman, Iowa. Betty graduated from Albia High School in 1943.

Betty married Paul Ernest Stocker on Dec. 8, 1946. To this union, five children were born, Cathie, Michael, Rebecca, Mark, and Lesa.Betty was very active with the First Christian Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Monroe County Democrats.

Betty had a gift for music and was able to play the piano and organ by listening to the music. When her children were younger, she helped in the Monroe County 4-H program. She loved children and enjoyed being with them in all aspects of their lives.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Daniel Quincy and Levada (Moyle) Caudill, two brothers Edwin and Harold Caudill, and four sisters Zella Cruchelow, Myrtle Cardenzana, Mabel Tyrrel and Bertha Temperance Caudill.

She is survived by her Husband, Paul Stocker; five children Dr. Cathie T. Siders of Washington D.C. and Carol Aschenbrener, Michael P. and wife Ann Stocker of Albia, Rebecca L. and husband David Hetrick of Garden City, KS, Mark A. and wife Janice Stocker of Des Moines, Lesa A. and husband Scott Kaldenberg of Eden Prairie, Minn. Betty is also survived by five grandchildren; Aaron and his wife Kim Siders of Atlanta, Ga., Matt and his wife Kathy Stocker of Albia, Alex Stocker of Albia, Tyler and Sarah Stocker of Des Moines; and two great grandchildren, Case and Cali Stocker of Albia.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at the First Christian Church in Albia, with Rev. Lynda Carlson officiating. Burial will follow services at Selection Cemetery in Monroe County. Visitation will begin at noon, Sunday, Feb. 3, at the Winfield Funeral Home in Albia. Betty’s family will be present throughout the day and evening at the Winfield Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Christian Church or the Leisure Lounge of Albia.
