Lloyd Clark, 88, Albia

ALBIA — Lloyd Wilson Clark, age 88, of Albia, Iowa died Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia.

He was born Feb. 13, 1919 in Fillmore, Saskatchewan, Canada to Homer D. and Inez (Stump) Clark. He married Ruby Edna Wallace on April 4, 1943 at the First Christian Church in Albia. She passed away on March 9, 2005.

Lloyd graduated from Albia High School, class of 1937. He farmed all of his life, starting near Moulton and Rathbun and moving to Monroe County in 1946. He farmed and did custom harvesting during World War II. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia; 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Lovilia, a past member of Farm Bureau and former recipient of the Farm Bureau Hall of Fame of Monroe County and had also served on the Soil Conservation Board in Monroe County. Farming was Lloyd’s passion, as he dearly loved harvest season and combining.

Lloyd is survived by four children, Ronnie (Marlene) Clark of Albia, Donald (Nancy) Clark of Lakeville, Minn., Carol (Bruce) Rahn of Marshalltown, Iowa and Larry (Patty) Clark of Albia; one daughter-in-law, Connie Clark of Albia; one brother, Glen Clark of Albia. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

His parents; wife; one son, Steve Clark; and two brothers, Kenneth Clark and Melvin Clark preceded Lloyd in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, 2007 at 2 p.m., at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia, with Rev. Kevin Leveck officiating. Burial will follow services at Oak View Cemetery in Albia.

Visitation will begin after 12 p.m., on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at the Winfield Funeral Home, with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening.

Memorials have been established to the Lloyd Clark Agricultural Scholarship.
