Funeral services for Gwen Loupee, 85, of 500 1st St. N., formerly of Oskaloosa, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Michael Crough officiating.
Burial will be in Wittemberg Cemetery north of Newton.
Visitation with the family will be tonight from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa.
Memorials to the First Christian Church in Oskaloosa will be accepted.
Mrs. Loupee died Wednesday Oct. 16, at her residence.
Mrs. Loupee was born April 5, 1911, in Mound Prairie Township in Jasper County, the daughter of Tom and Jessie Runyan Rodgers.
She married Clyde R. Loupee May 18, 1933, in Rensselaer, Ind.
Mrs. Loupee graduated from William Penn College in Oskaloosa and taught elementary school for many yaers in Rose Hill and Oskaloosa. She and her husband also operated the Milky Way Dairy in Oskaloosa for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Oskaloosa and the Oskaloosa Women's Club.
She is survived by her two great-nephews and their wives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died March 89, 1988; and a brother, Harold Rogers. ~ The Newton Daily News, October 18, 1996.
