Land Deed Question

My GGGrandfather, Daniel Hancock, received a Land Grant of 160A by Warrent No. 43 446 "the northeast quarter of Section 25 in township 83 N, of Range 45 W in the district of lands subject to sale at Council Bluffs, IA." He in turn sold this to a Lewis H. Partridge, who was already living on the property. Records for Chesterfield County, SC, show Daniel Hancock as signing release 31 Dec 1856. Partridge shows as Monona Co., IA 25 Apr 1857. Can someone tell me where this was located, would an original Deed be Registered and if so, where it could be located?
