Obituary from the Onawa Democrat: The Obituary of George B. O'Connor George B. O'Connor was born November 18, 1872, at Onawa, Iowa and passed from this life in a Sioux City hospital on June 1, 1960. Death came at the age of 87 years, 6 months and 13 days. He was a life long resident of this community, having served as a farmer, until retirement several years ago. He was united in marriage with Ethel Burrell at Onawa. She preceded him in death on March 12, 1923. Survivors are his one son, John O'Connor of Albuquerque, New Mexico, six daughters, Mrs. Lyle Casperson and Mrs. Mildred Peterson, both of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. Marion Nuzum of Altadena, California, Mrs. Ted Baker of Mapleton, Iowa, Mrs. Wayne Kinsley of Sioux Falls, S. Dak., and Mrs. Oscar Thompson of Harris, Iowa. There are 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a number of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons in infancy and two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 1960, at the Pearson Funeral Home. Rev. Everett Epperson conducted the services at the chapel and Mrs. Oliver Kelley was the organist. The casket bearers were Kenneth Casperson, Wayne and Bernard Baker, John Nelson, Larry Kannenberg and Richard McCauley. Interment was in the Onawa cemetery.
