Vivian “Pat” Moeller, age 87, of Banning, California (formerly of Ute, Iowa) passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2024, at the St. Clair Township Cemetery of Ute, Iowa. Father William A. McCarthy will officiate.

The family will host a luncheon to be held immediately following the graveside service at the Ute Town and Country Club of Ute, Iowa.

The Armstrong - Van Houten Funeral Home of Ute, Iowa, is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Vivian “Pat” Moeller was born November 2, 1936, at home in Ute, Iowa, to Paul and Evelyn Flynn. She was a big sister to Mike, Cliff, Barb, Richard and Paulette.

Pat played basketball for Ute High School. At a game her senior year, she caught the eye of a young man in the bleachers, Fredric “Rick” Moeller of Ricketts, Iowa. Pat and Rick were married September 3, 1955, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ute.

Pat and Rick moved to Temple City, California, in 1956. Eventually they decided that city life was not for them. In 1975, after a visit to Cherry Valley, California, Pat and Rick realized they had found a small town and a bit of land they could call home. They packed up their two daughters, Paula & Julie, and moved to Apple Tree Lane.

Pat had various jobs; but her primary career was being a homemaker at which she was outstanding! She enjoyed living at The Lakes, embroidery, ironing, BINGO!, being a mom and grandma, and volunteering in her community. Pat was very active in the St. Kateri Catholic Church Community in California. She truly loved her time as a member of the Catholic Daughters, Court St. Anne.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Evelyn Flynn; brothers Mike and Cliff; and husband Fredric “Rick” Moeller.

She will be missed daily by her daughters Paula (Don) Christante and Julie (Rod) Barth; grandchildren Adam Barth, Jake Barth, and Emily (Dalton) Kuntz; extended relatives and friends.
