MAPLETON, Iowa-- Linda Kay Tierney, 32, of Mapleton, died Thursday, May 2, 1991, at a Sioux City hospital. She had received internal injuries in an automobile accident near Smithland on March 31.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury, with the Rev. James Tigges officiating. Burial will be in the Danbury Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday, with a Rosary Society rosary at 3 p.m., and a vigil service at 7 p.m., all at the church. The Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home of Danbury and Mapleton is handling arrangements.

Miss Tierney was born April 27, 1959, at Storm Lake, Iowa, daughter of Harold and Jeannette (LeFebvre) Tierney. The family lived in Schaller, moved to Randolph, Neb., in 1959 and to Danbury in 1965. She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in Danbury and from the Maple Valley High School in 1977, and from Lakes Community College in 1980. She was employed at the Mapleton IGA Store.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury and of the Rosary Society.

Survivors include her parents; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Brenda and Doug Uhl of Orange City and Sandi Bockelmann of Sergeant Bluff; four brothers and a sister-in-law, Brian and Linda of Virginia Beach, Va., Keith of Anaheim, Calif., Kevin of Columbia, Mo., and Michael of Reno, Nevada; three nieces, Carrina Jean and Ashley Marie Uhl and Jamie Lynn Bockelmann; and two nephews, Darin Uhl and Brad Bockelmann.
