MRS. EDWIN ARMSTRONG

MAPLETON, Iowa Special: Funeral services for Mrs. Edwin Armstrong, 82, a resident here for more than 50 years, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Johns Methodist Church.

The Rev. Leonard Rowse will oficiate. Burial will be in Mount Cemetery here, under direction of the Walter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Armstrong, the former Agnes Malada, died Saturday at a Sioux City nursing home after a long illness. She was born June 8, I883, in Indiana, and came with her parents to Sloan, then moving to the Mapleton area in 1905. She was graduated from Morningside College in Sioux City and taught school in rural Sloan.

She was married to Mr. Armstrong on March 17, 1907, at Mapleton. He died in 1940.

She was a member of the Methodist Church, the Women's Society of Christian Service and the Civic Club.

Survivors include a daughter. Mrs. Christian Dietrich of Hornick, Iowa; a son, Ralph of Mapleton; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
