DANBURY, Iowa -- Barbara L. Collins, 71, of Danbury died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at her daughter's home in Creston, Iowa.

Services will be 10 a m. Monday at St John's Catholic Church in Onawa, Iowa, with the Rev. Harry D. McAlpine officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery at Turin, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p. m. and a Scripture prayer service at 7 p.m. at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Barbara was born Aug. 31, 1933, at rural Turin, the daughter of Clarence and Sarah (Scott) Shannon. She graduated from Castana Community School in 1951.

She married Harlan Morgan in 1951 in Monona County. To this union, five children were born. Barbara worked as a nurse's aid and EMT in the Castana and Danbury areas. She married Roger Collins in 1973, and the couple made their home in Danbury.

Barbara enjoyed flowers, gardening, pets and wildlife, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Roger of Danbury; three sons, Jim and his wife, Sally Morgan, of Fredricksburg, Md., Pat Morgan of Anchorage, Alaska and Dave and his wife, Patty Morgan, of Denison, Iowa; two daughters, Lori and her husband, Randy Crum, and Lisa Hanson, all of Creston; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Delbert, Paul and Lewis Shannon; and two sisters, Darlene Kuhlman and LeRaine Babock.
