Reta May Warren, 78, of Mapleton, Iowa formerly of Onawa, Iowa, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023 at Maple Heights Nursing Home, Mapleton, Iowa.

A memorial service will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 7, 2023 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Paul Coen, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Reta’s obituary. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Reta May was born April 11, 1945 in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Alvin “Boss” and Edna (Thompson) Hyatt. She graduated from Whiting Community School in 1963.

Reta (Hyatt) and Larry Warren were married September 28, 1962 in Onawa, Iowa and five children were born to this union. They later divorced.

Reta worked as a CNA in local nursing homes for several years. She also clerked at Safeway and Medicine Chest for many years. Reta enjoyed singing, reading, knitting, crocheting, coloring, painting, and playing card games, especially cribbage.

Reta was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa. She also helped with the Ladies Aid and Lutheran Women’s Fellowship.

Survivors include her children, Todd (Melinda) Warren of Cornelia, Georgia, Darin (Michelle) Warren of Onawa, Iowa, Barbara (Ron) Skarin of Moorhead, Iowa, Jason (Amber) Warren of Whiting, Iowa, Eric (Jessica Armstrong) Warren of Moorhead; ten grandchildren, Crystal Twait, Shawntel Warren, Dustin Warren, Dacia Warren, Dane Warren, Destinee Warren, Benjamin Lawrence, Austin Warren, Jasmine Warren, and Nicholas Warren; eleven great-grandchildren, Ariana Jones, Phoenix Jones, Jay Goodier, Jaxyn Goodier, Mazie Hearn, Chevy Hearn, Autumn Hearn, Crimson Hearn, Drew Hearn, Layten Anderson, and Scout; sister-in-law, Donna Hyatt of Onawa, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin “Boss” and Edna (Thompson) Hyatt; brothers, Daniel Hyatt, Alvin “Punk” Hyatt; and sister-in-law, Edith Hyatt.
