Agnetta “Aggie” Maxine Holsclaw, 98, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023, at Elmwood Care Centre, Onawa, Iowa.

A memorial service will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Catie Newman, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Aggie’s obituary. A visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Agnetta “Aggie” Maxine Holsclaw was born June 29, 1924, in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Page and Kate (Wright) Ooten. Aggie attended Onawa Public Schools. She grew up during the Depression and learned to be very frugal during WWII. In her younger years she worked for many family members doing lots of fieldwork and hoeing beans.

Aggie and Ira C. Milks were united into marriage in Elk Point, South Dakota. The couple later divorced. She later married Ernest E. Holsclaw on June 29, 1946, in Onawa, Iowa. Ernest passed away on October 12, 2003.

Aggie cleaned for the Onawa Lutheran Church and many houses. She worked for the Old Onawa Hospital and later for Burgess Memorial Hospital in their housekeeping and laundry department for many years.

She enjoyed ceramics, quilting, roller skating, camping, fishing, and bowling. Aggie was a part of the Onawa Bowling League, and they went to many regional tournaments around the area. She was a member of the David McNeill American Legion Auxiliary Unit #129, Onawa, Iowa.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Sharon Boren of Onawa, Iowa, Jodie and Dan Kelley of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Aaron and Helen Davis of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ira C. Milks, and Ernest “Doc” Holsclaw; parents, Page and Kate (Wright) Ooten; daughter, Honey Davis; and siblings, Clarence Ooten, Dorothy Swesey, Genevieve Ooten, Julia Ooten (infant), Laverne “Bat” Ooten, Jesse Ooten, Page Ooten, Julia “Jude” Martin, and Calvin Ooten.
