Funeral at Whiting Tuesday for Former Sioux City Resident

Mrs. Elizabeth Koon, 83, a former Sioux City and Monona county resident, died last Monday at Pasadena, Cal., where she had resided about three years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday in the Congregational church at Whiting, la. Rev. T. A. Thompson of Whiting will officiate. Burial will be in the Whiting cemetery under direction of the Pearson funeral home of Onawa.

Mrs. Koon was born in Ohio. She went to Monona county when she was 3. Mr. Koon operated a hardware and farmed in the Whiting community before retiring, after which Mr. and Mrs. Koon moved to Sioux City, where Mr, Koon died.

Mrs. Koon was a member of the Whiting Congregational church and was a charter member of the Royal Neighbors at Whiting.

Survivors are a son, Dale of Sioux City; a daughter, Mrs. Harry Sharp of Pasadena a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
