8 December 1983Peter J. Laumbach of Ute died Saturday, December 3,1983, at his home of an apparent heart attack.
Services were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ute. The Rev. Robert Leege officiated. Burial was in the. St. Clair Cemetery. There was a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Walter Funeral Home in Ute.
Mr. Laumbach was born October 1, 1891 to Henry and Martha (Peters) Laumbach in Crawford County, near Denison. He married Alete Rye September 26, 1912, at Denison. He farmed in the Denison, Mapleton and Ute communities, retiring in 1958.
He was an Army Veteran of World War I and was a member of Aaby Post, American Legion, at Ute and St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, five brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include bis wife; one daughter, Mrs. William (Ethel) Bockelmann of Corning; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Johannes Petersen, Herbert Mordhorst, Archie Mahoney, Wade Cooper, Daryl Hennings and Sheldon Naab.
