James Norman Lewison, age 61, of Columbus Ohio, formerly of Whiting, passed away on Sunday, January 01, 2023 the Eastland Care Center after courageously living with an aggressive cancer diagnosis.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Northwest Iowa later in the Spring.

James was born on October 20, 1961 in Storm Lake, Iowa to Norman and Judy Lewison. He graduated from Whiting High School in 1980. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Morningside College and a MBA from the University of South Dakota . James moved to Columbus Ohio in 1988 and remained in Columbus until his death.

James was passionate about Ohio State Buckeyes Football, Columbus Bluejacket hockey team and model railroading. He has an extensive collection of N scale model train He regularly attended train conventions until his illness. He was active in Toastmasters in Columbus Ohio. James has been a member of Ascension Lutheran Church since he moved to Columbus Ohio.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Judy Lewison , sisters Barb Lewison and Linda (Pablo) Munoz and their children Juan ( Riley) Munoz, Alyssa Munoz and Erik Munoz and Great niece Vianna Munoz. Uncle Phil Lewison, Aunts Barb Lewison and Bev Lewison and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Lewison, grandparents, Albert and Ardea Lewison and Loren and Ruth Altizer, Uncles Richard Lewison, Ronald Lewison, Ervin Stansbery and Aunts Karen Lewison, Louise Stansbery, Norma Schwerdtfeger.
