Judith “Judy” Jean Clift 1939 - 2023

Judith “Judy” Jean Clift, 83, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

A Funeral Service will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 20, 2023, at the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Clif Cockburn and Jack Gibler, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Judy’s obituary. Burial will follow at the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. A visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Judy Jean Bean was born on June 21, 1939, to Clyde and Margaret (Rafferty) Bean in Mason City, Iowa. She attended school at Onawa High School and graduated as a bulldog with the class of 1958. Judy worked for Zenith in Sioux City, Iowa, for several years.

Judy and Edward Clift were united into marriage on June 29, 1963, in Sioux City, Iowa. She worked at the Council Bluffs School District in nutrition services for over forty years.

She enjoyed Elvis, bowling, reading, and buying purses. She enjoyed family gatherings during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Everyone in the family loved Sunday dinners at “Grandma Bean’s house”. Judy was very proud of her children and her three grandsons. She showed her love of work by organizing a corn detasseling crew for several years. Her and Ed looked forward to going out with their friends every Wednesday night.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Clift of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two sons, Kevin Clift of Johnston, Iowa and Michael (Glenda) Clift of Prairie Village, Kansas; grandchildren, Connor Clift of Austin, Texas, Taylor Clift of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Parker Clift of Phoenix, Arizona; siblings, Ruth (Roger) Meadows, Patsy Bellis, Dale Bean, and Gary (Janie) Bean; sisters-in-law, Myrna (Phil) Anderson, Jean Kleve, and Neva Bean; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Margaret (Rafferty) Bean; mother-in-law, Dorothy Hanson; brothers, Robert Bean and Ralph Bean; sisters-in-law, Carol Bean, Karen Brunssen, and Sara Hanson; and brother-in-law, Jerry Bellis.
