Rites Wednesday for Widely Known Farmer of Turin

Turin, la.-- Special: Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Castana Community church for Peter F. Livengood, 74, well known farmer northeast of here, who died Sunday in an Onawa hospital.

B. E. Richeson of Moorhead will officiate. Burial will be in Kennebec cemetery, Castana.

One of the organizers of the Monona County farm bureau in 1916, Mr. Livengood was noted as a raiser of purebred chickens and Duroc hogs. He was a frequent prize winner in corn exhibits at the Iowa state and Monona and Woodbury County fairs.

Born April 2, 1871, at Elmo, Mo., Mr. Livengood came here 28 years ago.

Surviving are the widow, Alice; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Clawser of Mapleton; a sister, Mrs. Harry Waples of Castana; two brothers, William of Castana and Ray of Turin, and three grandchildren.

The Pearson funeral home of Onawa is in charge of arrangements.
