Evelyn J. Jenkins, 80, of Sioux City died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. John Meyer of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery in Whiting, Iowa. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Miss Jenkins was born Dec. 18, 1920, in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Letha (Cummins) Jenkins. She moved to Sioux City in 1938. She worked as a bookkeeper for Fiasco Truck Company for 50 years, retiring in the mid-1990s.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a brother and his wife, Glenn and Alice Jenkins of Sloan, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Gilbert, Lowell and Gordon.

Pallbearers will be Roger Jenkins, Phillip Jenkins, Dwight Jenkins, John Jenkins, Jim Jenkins and Glenn Jenkins Jr.
