Sean Donald Keiner was born on Sunday, September 28, 1997 at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa. He was the only son of Kai Keiner and the first-born son of Nikki Blume. From the time Sean was born, he was very smart, adventurous, strong-willed and stubborn. He could do most anything he set his mind to. He attended school mostly at Charter Oak - Ute School. Sean loved to read and would read any book he was given. Sean was always adventurous and a bit of a dare-devil. As a teen, he enjoyed skateboarding and doing stunts on his bike. His family often jokes that he knocked out his front teeth more times than we can count. He loved riding dirt bikes, 4-wheelers and motorcycles throughout his life. Sean liked fast cars and he enjoyed going to races with his Dad. He enjoyed being outdoors and going mushroom hunting with his Grandpa Dave and going on fishing trips with his Dad. He enjoyed being the big brother. He liked to teach his younger siblings’ things such as how to play blackjack for money and how to drive a 5 speed. He enjoyed playing video games with his brothers and his cousins - Tanner and Lee.

Most of all, Sean enjoyed making people laugh. He loved to be funny and tell jokes and play pranks. He could make you laugh so hard you would have tears rolling down your cheeks - even if you were mad at him. He especially loved to play pranks on his aunts Tammy and Emily because he knew they would always forgive him. Sean was well loved by those who knew him. Sadly, despite all the love that his family had for him, he struggled with depression that must have been more than he could endure. He took his own life on Saturday, February 26, 2022. He left this world and left a deep hole in the hearts of those that dearly loved him.

Sean’s family would like anyone reading this that is struggling with depression or thoughts of suicide to know that your life has worth. You are loved in the eyes of God. If you have a loved one struggling, please don’t give up hope. If you have trouble finding support do not be afraid to reach out to Sean’s parents. We would not wish anyone to suffer this pain we are going through and we will help in any way that we can.
