Douglas V. Blake, 66, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Burgess Health Center, Onawa, Iowa.

Per Douglas’ wishes, cremation has been accorded. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Douglas Vincent was born May 22, 1955 in Onawa, Iowa the son of Ralph Leroy and Delores Ann (Steward) Blake. Douglas grew up in Onawa and obtained his GED. He served in the United States Army.

Douglas drove truck for Swift Transportation for many years, where he was awarded for driving a million miles with no accidents. Douglas worked for Prescription Landscaping in St. Paul Minnesota for many years.

Douglas enjoyed going on fishing trips to Canada with his family. He was a family-oriented man and cared for them very much. He enjoyed the outdoors and golfing. Douglas was an avid morel mushroom hunter.

Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Michael Blake of Onawa, Iowa, Kevin Blake of Washington State, Regina Simmons of Onawa, Iowa, Mark Blake of Arizona, and Craig Blake of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Delores (Steward) Blake; and brother, Brian Blake.
