Barbara Ellen Lambert, 92, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 at UnityPoint Health St. Luke’s, Sioux City, Iowa.
A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 24, 2022 at the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa with Elders Lonnie Campbell and Jack Gibler, officiating. A live stream video will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home Website. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. A luncheon will follow the burial at the church. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Barbara Ellen was born April 10, 1929 in Soldier, Iowa, the daughter of Louis Marshal and Blanche Mary (Allen) Carritt. She graduated from Castana High School, in Castana, Iowa.
Barbara married Lyle Eugene on May 10, 1947 in Onawa, Iowa. To this union two daughters were born, Beth and Christine. Lyle passed away February 14, 2006.
Barbara was a telephone operator for many years. She was an employee at the Onawa State Bank for many years. She loved reading, movies, and playing cards. Barbara enjoyed spending time with all of her family.
Barbara was a member of the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa. She was involved in the Ladies Circle at church and the Red Hat Society. She was a volunteer at Burgess Health Center for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Beth (Doug) Lehman of Sioux City, Iowa; grandchildren, Megan (Sam Miller) Trucano of Alexandria, Virginia and Sarah (fiancé Jacob Lehmann) Trucano of Merrill, Iowa; and one great-grandchild, Zaida (Sarah) Trucano of Merrill, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Blanche (Allen) Carritt; daughter, Christine Lambert; three brothers, Joe Carritt, Donny Carritt, and Jerry Carritt; and one sister, Judy Schopke.
