Patrick S. “Pat” Trizila 1945 - 2022

Patrick S. “Pat” Trizila, 76, of Elkhorn, Nebraska passed away Saturday, January 16, 2022 at Methodist Women’s Hospital, Elkhorn, Nebraska.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Catie Newman, officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Patrick Stewart was born February 15, 1945 in Sioux Falls, SD, the son of Walter M. and Marion L. (Stewart) Trizila.

Pat was very involved as a 32* Scottish Rite Freemason, Knights Templar, and Fraternal Order of the Eagles member since 1975.

Pat had a passion for the arts and enjoyed playing numerous instruments. He was also employed as a professional dance instructor with Arthur Murray, where he went on to become a three-time undefeated champion in Omaha’s version of American Bandstand, after which, they retired him from the dance competition. Pat enjoyed boxing, judo, karate, and wrestling.

Pat served as a County Supervisor for Fremont and an Omaha City Council Member. Pat later served as a manager of Earl May Nurseries before transitioning to a Metro Area Transit bus driver until the day he retired.

He was known for his smile that could light up a room, and his near photographic memory.

Survivors include his children, Lisa Case, Ann Ninete, Patrick C. Trizila, Jon Trizila, and Patrick S. Trizila Jr.; four grandchildren; Rachel Hines, Evan Case, Brett Case, Kimberly Trizila; four great-grandchildren; Liam Case, Gabriel Hines, Kenna Hines, Hazel Case; one brother, Michael (Mary) Trizila; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Marion Trizila.
