Beverly Jane Anderson, 68, of Blencoe, Iowa passed away October 3, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family and friends.

A funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Hospice Chaplain Dale Wolf officiating. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa. All are welcome to join for a luncheon following the committal service at the Blencoe Community Building. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Beverly Jane Archer was born November 9, 1952 at the old Onawa Hospital, the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Leisinger) Archer. She attended school in Onawa, and graduated from West Monona in 1970. Bev worked as a candy striper at Burgess Hospital during high school.

On August 15, 1971, Beverly was united in marriage to her childhood friend and sweetheart, David Anderson, at the First Christian Church in Onawa, Iowa. To this union two sons were born, Jon and Chuck. Bev worked as a news correspondent for the Onawa Sentinel. She decorated cakes for special occasions for family and friends and enjoyed sewing. Bev and Dave were avid square dance partners. She was a member of the Christian Fellowship and was baptized into the First Christian Church.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband of fifty years, Dave Anderson of Blencoe, Iowa; her children, Jon (Meryl) Anderson of Blencoe, Iowa, and Chuck Anderson of Onawa, Iowa; grandchildren, Alexis Anderson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Breckin Anderson of Blencoe, Iowa; her siblings, Hope (Clifford Lee) Thelander of Onawa, Iowa, Carol (John Carrier) Archer Otto of Onawa, Iowa, Gail Van Winkel of St. Louis, Missouri, and Rick (Kelly) Archer of Onawa, Iowa; sister-in-law, Donna Anderson of Onawa, Iowa; brother-in-law, Terry (Denise) Anderson of Waukee, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Dorothy (Leisinger) Archer; her parents-in-law, Don (Elsie) Anderson; one sister, June Rose Archer Ooten; brothers-in-law, Daniel Van Winkel, Earl Thelander, and Fred Otto; and two nephews, Todd Archer, and Shawn Ooten.
