Bertha “Bert” Ramirez, 81, of Blencoe, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at her residence.

Per Bertha’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are being planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Bertha “Bert” Booth was born on December 2, 1939, in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of James and Ora (Anthony) Booth. Bert grew up and attended school in Texas.

Bert was a waitress for many years and owned her own bar in Texas. For many years she worked at H & R Block as a tax secretary. She enjoys reading, crocheting, and is an avid animal lover.

Bert married John Fredrick Ramirez on September 3, 1973, in Metairie, Louisiana.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Andrea (Carey) McClure of Onawa, Iowa, Quentin Jetton of Sioux City, Iowa, and Joshua Jetton of Colorado; four great-grandchildren, Zachery (Savanna) Vaughn of Turin, Iowa, Cyrus McClure of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Lief (Robin) Jetton of Sioux City, IA, and Emma Stusse of Sioux City, IA; great-great-grandchildren, Lily Vaughn, Kyler Vaughn, and soon to be born, Daisy Vaughn; one brother-in-law, Bob Freer of Euless, TX; many nieces & nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends; and her beloved cat, “Oliver”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ora (Anthony) Booth; her husband, John Fredrick Ramirez; several brothers and sisters; two sons, George Janes and Bobbie Jetton; and many aunts and uncles.
