Marjorie Lorenzen, 84, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 23, at Armstrong Funeral Chapel in Anthon with Pastor Clif Cockburn officiating. Interment was in Good Hope Cemetery, Correctionville, under direction of Armstrong Funeral Service. Marjorie Irene Lorenzen was born November 7, 1926, to Oliver and Leona Hansen Wilson at Onawa, iowa. As a child the family moved to the Smithland area, then to Titonic, Grant Center, and Castana, Iowa. Marjorie married Clarence Henry Lorenzen June 21, 1946, in Onawa. The couple then moved to Rodney, Smithland, and then to the Oto area where they farmed for 35 years. After retiring from farming in 1980 they moved into Oto. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing and horse riding. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. After Clarence passed away, Marjorie moved to Washta, Iowa, in 1995. She had six children, two girls and four boys: Beverly (Mrs. Fred) Waugh of Washta, Sharon (Mrs. Mike) Todd of Cleghorn, Ronald (Pat) Lorenzen of Sioux City; Raymond (Sue) Lorenzen of Holstein; Keith (Shellie) Lorenzen of Sioux City; Brian (Janelle) Lorenzen of Cushing; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, one sister Argene (Mrs. Larry) Meyer of Correctionville; one brother Richard (Arlene) Wilson of Sergeant Bluff; and one sister-in-law, Lena Lorenzen of Seattle, Washington. Along with her husband she was preceded by her parents, a son-in-law, Craig Ruring; two grandsons, David Waugh and Tony Lorenzen; two brothers, Bobby and Eugene; and one sister Elizabeth "Betty" Crawford.
