MOORHEAD, Iowa-- Scott Michael Jackson, 22, of Moorhead, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 1996, following a car accident south of Turin, Iowa. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church in Onawa. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery in Moorhead. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. and a Scripture service at 7 p.m. at the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.
Mr. Jackson, the son of Darrel J. and Pauline (Muell) Jackson, was born Oct. 5, 1974, at Council Bluffs. From age 2, he was raised by his grandparents, Charles and Helen Hanson, on a farm near Moorhead. He graduated in 1993 from East Monona High School at Moorhead, and then attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs for two years, studying electronics. He worked for O'Keefe Elevator Company in Omaha.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Onawa, and was baptized at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
Survivors include his maternal grandparents, Charles and Helen Hanson of Moorhead; his parents, Pauline and her husband, Richard "Denny" Swaney of Blair, Neb., and Darrel J. Jackson of Omaha; paternal grandparents, Jack and Marilyn Jackson of Omaha; maternal great-grandmother, Josephine Peterson Skalla of Chandler, Ariz.; two half-sisters, Stephanie Jackson of Bellevue, Neb. and Angela Swaney of Blair; one half-brother, Nicholas Swaney of Blair; one aunt and one uncle, and numerous cousins.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ralph Nicholas Muell, and his maternal great-grandfather, John P. "Jack" Peterson
