19 August 2020Luella “Lolly” Mae Raymond, 88, of Onawa, Iowa, formerly of Little Sioux, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at her residence.
A Memorial Service will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Michael Lewis officiating. (Social distancing measures will be followed- Family requests attendees to bring and wear masks.) Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Lolly Mae was born November 25, 1931, in Lemon, South Dakota, the daughter of Edward and Edna Rose (Powell) Shear.
Luella Mae and Frank Raymond, Jr. were united into marriage on July 8, 1954 in Richmond, California. Five children were brought to this union. Frank passed away May 21, 2011. e
Lolly was the Little Sioux post master for several years. She was an over the road truck driver with her husband and a buyer for children’s department at the People’s Store in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
She enjoyed gardening, antiquing, painting, playing cards, and mushroom hunting. She loved spending time with all of her family.
Lolly was a member of the American Legion Auxillary Little Sioux Unit #410 and served on the Little Sioux Homecoming Committee for many years.
Survivors include her children, Richard “Dusty” Raymond of Paducah, Kentucky, Geri (Carl) Johnson of Onawa, Iowa, Diana Henderson of Phoenix, Arizona, Deanna Burgess of Onawa, Iowa, Glenn (Becky) Raymond of Florissant, Colorado and Sherry Caba of McCook Lake, South Dakota; grandchildren, Eric (Sheryl) Springer, Tina Hinrichsen, Lisa Pruett, Jeff (Kim) Raymond, Aaron Raymond, Missy Ricketts, Kerrie (Don) Martin, Kim Johnson, Christy Decelles, Shelly Henderson, Amy Burgess, Todd Burbridge, Neal Raymond, Jaime (Brad) Smith, Jessi (Gary) Keppy, Jill (Rob) Savage, Frankie (Tammy) Torticill, Travis Torticill, Freddy (Hillary) Edwards, Molly (Cody) Olson, Mike, Terry, and Bill Burgess and Denise Jennings; fifty-four great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; sister, Carla (Jerry) Cunnington, sisters-in-law, Bernadine Raymond, Margaret Heitz and Glenda Eastman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Shear and Edna Rose (Powell) Davidson; her husband, Frank Raymond, Jr.; daughter, Frankie Torticill; sons-in-law, Delanie Torticill, Leonard Burgess and Jeff Caba; brothers, Carlyle Eastman and Charles Eastman; sister, Lola Thunem; granddaughter, Angie Gibson; grandsons, Scott Johnson and Joe Caba; sisters-in-law, Martha Smith and Virginia Eastman; brother-in-law, George Raymond; and great-great grandson, Drayson Bredberg.
Memorials are preferred and may be given in Lolly’s memory to the family for future designations.
