Lois L. McIntyre

SIOUX CITY - Lois L. Mclntyre, 72, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Services will be l p.m. Thursday at Community Church, 3232 Transit Ave., in Sioux City, with the Rev. Bob Smith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present at 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home.

Lois was born in Janosek, S.D., on May 29, 1937, to Sanford and Delpha (Fejfar) Learing. She attended school in Yankton, S.D.

She married John Mclntyre Jr. in Luverne, Minn., on Dec. 10,1956. The couple traveled extensively with John's job before settling in Sioux City in 1976.

She enjoyed bowling, garage sales, jigsaw puzzles, lap quilting and collecting knickknacks. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, John; sons, Steven (Cheryl) Mclntyre of Glenwood, Iowa, Michael (Donna) Mclntyre of South Sioux City and Dwayne (Misty) Mclntyre of Sioux City; a step-son, Steven (Jody) Gates of Stanton, Neb.; step-daughters, Elizabeth (Tony) Synovec of Norfolk, Neb., and Katherine (Tom) Hogancamp of South Sioux City; brothers, Leroy (Mary Ann) Learing of Sioux City, Gary (Pyong) Learing of El Paso, Texas, and Tom Learing of Sheldon, Iowa; sisters, Janice (Dan) Gill of Yankton, S.D., and Mary (Kenny) Harts of Liberty, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous foster children, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joey Learing; and a sister, Janet Learing.
