23 September 2020Marvil Ann (Ross) Summerfield, born October 4, 1940, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2020. She was born in and grew up in Onawa, Iowa.
She graduated from Onawa High School in 1959. She married Ray Summerfield in Onawa in May of 1962. Though that marriage ended she had two beautiful children from that union. She completed a Secretarial Certificate program at Iowa Western Technical College in the late 1970’s.
She lived much of her life with humor and energy. She believed in being of service to others. She touched the lives of countless numbers of people. She valued her family and friends and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, G. Lyle and Margaret L. (Benjamin) Ross, a brother and sister – Leon Ross and Marilyn Ross.
She is survived by her 2 children, Ken R. Summerfield (Nancy) and Kathy A. Singh (Ian), foster daughter – Trish Karp (Alan) and 6 granddaughters – Meagan, McKenzie, Madison, Sydney, Elyse, and Kiran; 1 grandson – Max Christensen (Annie) and 2 great grandchildren – Natalie and Avery; Siblings – Larry Ross, Lenny Ross (Carol); Marcy Janssen (Dean); Mary Binderup (Norm Wordekemper); Lowell Ross (Kay); and Leslie Ross (Barb); and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
