Cecil DaWayne Payne, 63, of Moorhead, Iowa passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Burgess Health Center, Onawa, Iowa.

Per Cecil’s wishes, cremation has occurred. Memorial Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Onawa Community Center, Kelly Hall, Onawa, Iowa with Sandy Jones officiating. Lunch to follow the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Cecil DaWayne was born September 1, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of DaWayne Lenard and Connie Rae (Helm) Payne. He grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and started working with his father for Payne Siding.

Cecil and Linda LaRae (Tipton) Payne were united in marriage on October 5, 1974 in North Bend, Nebraska.

He owned and operated Payne Siding for many years where he installed siding. He enjoyed traveling with his work. He enjoyed fishing, watching Westerns, baking, and spending time with his dog, “Olive”. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Cecil and Linda moved to Moorhead, Iowa approximately 10 years ago.

Cecil is survived by his wife, Linda Payne of Moorhead, Iowa; his children, Angela Payne of Cambridge, Iowa, Wendy (Kenny Kelsey) Payne of Ankeny, Iowa, Adam (Samantha) Payne of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Ashley Payne of Moorhead, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandson; sister, Becky (Bill) Haifley of Des Moines, Iowa; brother, Robert (Patty) Payne of Spickard, Missouri; sister-in-law, Beverly Payne of Fort Dodge, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, DaWayne Lenard and Connie Rae (Helm) Payne; brother, Steve Payne; and one granddaughter, Kimberly Payne.
