Ned W. Reynolds, 65, of Whiting, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at his residence.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February, 5, 2020 at the First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Michael Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 4, 2020 with family present from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Ned William Reynolds was born May 15, 1954 in Mondamin, Iowa, the son of William “Bill” Glaydon and Phyllis June (Leonard) Reynolds. He grew up in Onawa and graduated from West Monona High School in 1972. After graduation he attended Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.

Ned and Melinda Kae Booth were united in marriage on March 17, 1989 in Omaha, NE.

In his early years Ned owned and operated a moving company Transfer 88. A highlight of his career was moving pianos for the music group, Mannheim Steamroller. Ned also farmed for several years. At the time of his death Ned owned and operated Reynolds Transfer and was a Postal Delivery Contractor. Ned was also an ordained minister and completed several family weddings.

He enjoyed trapping, hunting, fur trading, dirt track racing, and was a master breakfast cook. He was a workaholic and enjoyed working no matter what the job was. Ned was a lifelong coin collector and could be found watching the coin channel on television. Ned was a dedicated member at the First Christian Church in Onawa, Iowa.

Survivors include his mother, Phyllis (Leonard) Reynolds of Onawa, Iowa; his wife of thirty years, Melinda Reynolds of Whiting, Iowa; his children, Ned Reynolds Jr. of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Adam and (Kelcey) Reynolds of Omaha, NE, Neal and (Joelle) Reynolds of Onawa, Iowa, and Sarah and (Sam) Kirchoff of DeWitt, NE; grandchildren, Laura Kalkowski, Madison Kirchoff, Jackson Kirchoff, Hudson Kirchoff, Shawn Reynolds, Roman Reynolds, and two more on the way; sisters, Jane and (Greg) Heisterkamp of Sloan, Iowa, and Ann (Vince) Phillips of Onawa, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” Glaydon Reynolds.
