1 January 2020Harlan “Rick” Golden, 66, of Marshalltown, Iowa formerly of Castana, Iowa passed away December 23, 2019 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Memorial Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 6, 2020 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa. Burial will be in the Kennebec Cemetery, rural Castana, Iowa, with Military Honors provided by the United States Army. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Harlan “Rick” Dale Golden Jr. was born on December 27, 1952, in Onawa, Iowa, the son of Harlan and Betty (Conyers) Golden. He attended West Monona and Maple Valley Schools.
Rick served in the United States Army from July 13, 1971 until his honorable discharge on April 23, 1973.
He was a member of the Grimsley-Thayer American Legion Post #502 of Castana, Iowa.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Golden of Onawa, Iowa; older brother, Mike (Donna) Golden of Castana, Iowa; younger sister, Debra Golden; niece, Christy (Eric) Cole of Castana, Iowa; nephew, Brandon (Casey) Golden of Mapleton, Iowa; several great-nieces and nephews; other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harlan Golden.
