Raymond Lee Mousel, 57, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, with his family by his side.

Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, December 21, 2019, at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Michael Lewis officiating. Visitation with family present will be 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, December 20, 2019, at the Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Raymond Lee Mousel was born on July 25, 1962, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Merlin and Betty (Johnson) Mousel. He grew up in Remsen, Iowa, and graduated from Remsen High School in 1980.

He married Lori Phipps on December 21, 1995, in Blencoe, Iowa.

Ray farmed for many years in the Onawa area with Chuck Oliver. He then drove a route truck for Darling International in Sioux City.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Iowa Hawkeyes, and traveling to Costa Rica with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Lori Mousel of Onawa, IA; children, Ashley (Jesse) Black of Sloan, IA, Michelle Limoges of Sloan, IA, Dustin (Bunni) Cooper of Kempner, TX, Mindy (Joseph) Cooper of Panama City, Panama, and Melissa (Dustin) Wright of Kempner, TX; grandchildren, Payge, Aydan, Sophie, and Jackson; brothers, Donnie (Sharon) VanRoekel of Sioux City, IA, Louie (Desiree) VanRoekel of Deadwood, SD, and Bruce (Pam) VanRoekel of Olathe, KS; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merlin and Betty (Johnson) Mousel; one brother, Mark Mousel; and his parents-in-law, Harold and Ruby Phipps.
