15 January 2020Earl Glen Reitz, 81, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 10, 2020 at the First Christian Church in Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Michael Lewis, officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service.
Earl Glen Reitz was born on July 12, 1938, in Mapleton, IA, the son of Albert and Arrahwanna (Ash) Reitz.
Earl Glen and Donna Jean (Clark) Reitz were united in marriage on May 18, 1957 and to this union three children were born, Nina, LeRoy, and Brenda.
Earl worked in construction and Flavorland for several years. He also worked at John Morrell from April 1, 1986 until he retired April 30, 2010.
Earl cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a simple family man. He also loved to collect scale model cars.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Donna Jean; three children, Nina (Joe) George of Raymore, MO, LeRoy (Linda) Reitz of Onawa, IA, and Brenda (Craig) Breeding of Castle Rock, CO; grandchildren, Brittany (Bryson) Drummonds, Heather George and John Berry, Lindsey (Briar) Jones, Austin Reitz and Lacey Wacker, Dustin Breeding and Laurynn Tansley, and Nicole (Jake) Coykendall; great-grandchildren, Connor and Shayla Breeding, Jaci, Thea, and Mila Jones, Lillian, MacKenzie and Henry Coykendall; one brother, Don (Carolyn) Reitz; one sister, Joyce Boston; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Clark; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Arrahwanna; parents-in-law, Beze and Ruby Clark; one brother, Albert Reitz; two sisters, Wilma Bernhardt and Mary Lou Leisinger; three brothers-in-law, Tom Bernhardt, Tom Boston, and Pete Leisinger; and granddaughter, Ashley George.
