Violet Rosamond Gries was born February 7, 1918 near Ute, Iowa and departed this life on August 20, 1931 near Grant Center, Iowa at the age of 13 years, 6 months, and 13 days.

The nearest kin to mourn her departure are as follows: her father, J.E. Gries of Grant Center, 5 sisters, Mrs. ethel Gray and Mrs. Lester Kepler of Onawa, Iowa and Mrs., Forrest Payne, Florence and Evelyn of Grant Center, also 5 brothers: Charlie, Harold, Cecil, Clarence and Melvin all of Grant Center, Iowa.

Her mother died March 22, 1920 and two brothers died in infancy.

The funeral was help Saturday at Soldier and burial was made at Ute Cemetery.
