PIONEER LADY BURIED TUESDAY

MISS KATE D. ELLIOTT BORN IN ONAWA 70 YEAR AGO DIES AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS

Was the Daughter of That Pioneer Merchant Timothy Elliott J —She is Survived by three Sisters and one Brother—The Funeral was Held Tuesday.

, Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Grant for Miss Kate D. Elliott, a pioneer of the City, having been born here over 70 years ago. Rev. Batho of the First Methodist Church of this city officiating at the funeral and burial was made in the Onawa cemetery.

Kate D. Elliott, youngest daughter of Timothy and Maria Elliott was born in Onawa, Iowa July 14, 1861. Here her entire life was spent. She was graduated from the Onawa high school in the class of 1880. She then entered her father's store where she helped him ln his business until his retirement. Miss Elliott remained in the home of her parents caring for them in their declining years.

She was a member of the Congregational church, which she attended faithfully the greater part of her life.

Her death occurred on the morning of August 22, 1931 after on illness of several years.

She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Robertson of Missouri Valley, Mrs. Jennie Norton of Onawa, Mrs. Nellie Perkins of Tulaire, California and one brother, J.J. Elliott of Sioux City.
