Obituary from an Onawa paper:

DIED. RUTLEDGE-at his home in Onawa, Iowa, Tuesday, March 24, 1885. Mr. Peter Rutledge, aged 74 years. Mr. Rutledge had been a resident of Onawa about four years. He had been ailing for the most of the time the past year and his death was not altogether unexpected. He leaves a large family nearly all of whom are men and women. The funeral took place from the family residence Thursday forenoon and a large number of friends were present and accompanied the remains to their last resting place.
