Edwin E. McLang, 79, of Whiting, Iowa, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 22, 2019 at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Catie Newman, officiating. Burial will follow in Sloan Cemetery, Sloan, Iowa. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services on Friday, February 22, 2019. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Edwin Ethan was born on June 25, 1939, in Sioux City, Iowa to Arthur and Pearl Eva (McNary) McLang. He lived in Sioux City, Iowa until as a young boy, who then moved to the Climbing Hills farm until the death of his father, and then had to move back to Sioux City as a teenager.

In his youth, he had a love of playing his guitar and riding his motorcycles.

As a young adult he served in the United States Army as a 1st Lieutenant. It was at this time he met the love of his life, Cora Mae McCandless. They married and settled on a farm in the Whiting area.

Edwin drove semi trucks for 30 years plus under the handle of “Iowa Gypsy”. During that time he was blessed with two daughters, Teressa Mae and Debra Marie.

Cora and Edwin enjoyed many years of spending time with their family and enjoying country music.

Survivors include his two daughters, Teressa Mae (Jeremy) Goodvin of Whiting, IA and Debra Marie (Wayne) Copeland of Charter Oak, IA; three step-grandchildren, Stephan, Katrina, & Zachary Goodvin; two grandchildren, Ray and Sarah Goodvin; and six step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Pearl McLang; and his wife, Cora Mae McLang.
