Christopher L. Harkins, 33, of Ute, Iowa and formerly of Cherokee, Iowa died Saturday, March 22, 2008.

There was a visitation Thursday, March 27 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Armstrong Funeral Home at 210 South Day Avenue in Ute, Iowa. Burial will be in Oregon at a later date.

Christopher Lee Harkins was born March 14, 1975, in Spokane, Washington the son of Ralph Shaw and Margaret Harkins. He grew up and was educated on the west coast and lived in Oregon until 1998. It was then that he moved to Cherokee, Iowa. He moved to Ute in 2005 and was currently working for Johnson Construction of Ute.

Survivors include his parents, Ralph and Margaret of Coos Bay, Oregon; his grandfather, Chester Harkins of Mapleton, Iowa; his grandmother, Ruth Burcham of Ute, Iowa; three daughters, Apryl and Sarah Harkins of Cherokee, Iowa; and Elizabeth Adams of Ida Grove, Iowa; one brother, James Harkins and one sister, Shalae Harkins, both of Oregon; along with numerous other relatives.
