SOLDIER, Iowa -- Marcedus Evelyn Jekinson, 88, of Omaha, formerly of Soldier, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, in Omaha.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Dundee Presbyterian Church in Omaha. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. today in Graceland Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of John A. Gentleman Mortuaries in Omaha.

Mrs. Jekinson was born in Soldier. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a past Worthy Matron of Adelphic Chapter in Des Moines. She attended Dundee Presbyterian Church in Omaha.

Survivors include three daughters, Judith Haines of Sunrise Beach, Mo., JoAnne Gladson of Sunrise Beach, Mo., and Eileen Segan of Omaha; four grandchildren, Anne OIson, John Haines, Jonanne Ellner and Kimberly Lewis; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille Gorham of Dunlap, Iowa, and Vivian Knutson of Denver, Colo.; a brother, William Knutson; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; a daughter, Carolyn; and three brothers, Clayton, Vernon and Harlan Knutson.
