WHITING, Iowa -- Ramona Ruth (Orr) Huff, 87, of Prescott, Ariz., formerly of Whiting, passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at her residence.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Congregational Church in Whiting. Arrangements in Arizona are under the direction of Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott. Arrangements in Whiting are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Mrs. Huff was born Dec. 31, 1916, on the family farm west of Whiting, the daughter of Ray and Daisy (Waugh) Orr. She was her dad's helper on the farm, she drove the team of horses, the Model Ts and the tractors, since the age of 10. She graduated in 1934 from Whiting High School and married her high school sweetheart, Lawrence Robert "Bob" Huff on June 28, 1937.

Music was her life. She played at high school dances and the clarinet in the concert band. She also sang alto in her church and school choirs. She moved to Prescott in 1971 following the death of her beloved Bob in 1970, along with her son, John.

Music was still an important part of her life in Prescott. She was a member of the Symphony Guild and a school docent in the Music Memory Program. She was an artist in many different ways, in her cooking, sewing and the visual arts. She was a member of the Westerners and a very supportive member of the Prescott Fine Arts and the First Congregational Church.

She is survived by her sons, Michael, David and John; a daughter-in-law, Patsy Jo; and her grandchildren, Timothy, Paul, Inger, Aaron and Sarah.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mildred Carter; and a brother-in-law, Fred.
