Paul Vahler Laid to Rest

Paul Vahler, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Holstein Vahler, was born January 15, 1896 and died at the Deering Hospital at Onawa on April 23, 1937, at the age of 41 years, 3 months and 8 days.

September 22, 1929 he was united in marriage to Edith Lyons. To this union three daughters were born, Helen Lois, who died in infancy, Janet and Betty Jo.

Paul had lived in the Soldier community all his life and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

His father, two sisters, Mrs. Nels Christenson and Mrs. John G. Olson, and one brother, Edward, preceded him to the Great Beyond.

Left to mourn his loss, are his wife, two daughters, a loving mother, two brothers, Orren and Leonard, all of Soldier; two sisters, Mrs. Leonard Kearns of Council Bluffs and Helma of Soldier; four nieces and two nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held from the church in Soldier Monday and burial was made in the St. Clair Cemetery at Ute beside his infant daughter—Soldier Sentinel
